The Merry Pranksters is a term coined for those who promoted the psychedelic lifestyle that was brought about by LSD recreational use.
An LSD trip normally has four parts: The Onset, The Plateau, The Peak and the Comedown. The effects lasts typically from 8 to 12 hours.
The first effects of LSD can be felt about an hour to 30 minutes after the acid is taken. This is known as The Onset of an acid trip.
